Liverpool youngster Joe Gomez is enjoying being involved with England's Under-21s and feels he is learning from boss Gareth Southgate and Chelsea assistant Steve Holland, who aids the former Aston Villa defender.
The 18-year-old talent joined Liverpool from Charlton Athletic earlier this summer, but rather than being sent out on loan to further his first team experience, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has thrust him into first team duty at Anfield.
Gomez, despite being right-footed, has been slotted in at left-back and is keeping experienced left-backs Alberto Moreno and Jose Enrique out of the team.
He is also earning the right to be involved with England at Under-21 level and is delighted to be able to continue learning in a new environment at international level.

Gomez told the The FA's official site: "I’ve really enjoyed it so far and it’s been a good experience of my first time coming away with the U21s.

"There’s some top quality players and all of the other boys have made me feel comfortable settling in, been very welcoming and it’s been good.
"But I’m glad to be here with the U21s because it’s a good learning experience for me and with Gareth and Steve, it’s a nice environment for me."
Gomez played for England Under-21s in their 1-0 win over a United States Under-23 side on Thursday and will be hoping to be involved in their European Championship qualifier against Norway on Monday.
