Manchester City winger Jesus Navas has revealed that he is working hard for his club to make sure that he earns a recall to the Spain national team.

The winger has been in good form of late for the Citizens, having managed a total of 12 Premier League appearances for the club, providing his team-mates with two assists.

Navas' ultimate aim continues to be to secure a spot in Vicente del Bosque's squad for Euro 2016.

The 29-year-old has in fact not played for his national side since being left out of the squad for the World Cup in Brazil last summer.

The urge to find a way back still remains, with the team set to visit France for the European Championship in 2016. The Spaniards have already secured a clean passage through to the final stage of the tournament by winning nine out of their ten matches in the qualifiers.

“I am always trying to win my place back in the national team – it’s something I am working hard to try and do, but that will only happen if I’m playing well for City”, Navas told his club's official website.

"I have always been very proud to play for Spain and it is an honour to be called up by your country so I have that incentive on top of wanting to do my best for City.

“If I have another opportunity it would be incredible as it’s one of the greatest feelings for any footballer.”
