Leeds United head coach Steve Evans and Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt have shaken hands on a loan move for the midfielder to Elland Road, it has been claimed.
Evans has been chasing Bridcutt for several weeks, but the midfielder has been unsure on his future amid interest from two other Championship clubs in the shape of Cardiff City and Reading.
Bridcutt played for Sunderland Under-21s last night, but Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce confirmed earlier today that the midfielder is someone he wants to offload.
Now, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Evans is fighting to sign Bridcutt and has held a meeting with the midfielder at Leeds' Thorp Arch training ground tonight.
It has been claimed that the pair have shaken hands on a deal which, if true, means Bridcutt is heading to Elland Road before the emergency loan window slams shut on Thursday.

Evans would be likely to slot the Chelsea youth product straight into his squad for Leeds' visit to Loftus Road to take on QPR at the weekend.
Winning the chase for Bridcutt would be a coup for Evans, who has been struggling to convince his targets to join Leeds on loan deals.
