Rangers defender Dominic Ball has divulged his admiration for Chelsea captain John Terry and has also picked the English stalwart as his preferred central defensive partner.
The Tottenham Hotspur loanee has cemented a first team place under Mark Warburton and has been essential in the Gers’ surge to the top of the Scottish Championship.
The Ibrox outfit are aiming for promotion to the top tier of Scottish football this season and the defender is set to play a key part in their bid.
The English Under-20 international identified Fabio Cannavaro, the former Italian defender, as the most technical defender he has ever seen.
Speaking in an interview with Rangers TV, Ball also revealed his childhood hero is former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham. He said: “I would have to say growing up it was David Beckham [who was my footballing hero], but now it’s John Terry.”

The defender was also asked to pick his preferred central defensive partner, to which he replied: “When I was younger, I would probably have said Cannavaro, because I would say he’s the most technical, sharpest player I have ever seen.
“But, currently I would say John Terry, because he’s just proved as he’s got older, how good he is.”
Ball has made 12 appearances for the Gers this season and is expected to start tomorrow’s clash away to Raith at Stark’s Park.
