Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday has expressed his frustration after last Saturday’s clash against Raith Rovers was called off due to Storm Desmond.

Mark Warburton’s side sit comfortably at the top of the Scottish Championship, three points ahead of second placed Hibernian.

The Gers had the momentum with them going into the clash against Raith, having won all of their last four games, three out of which were with a 4-0 scoreline.

The 24-year-old midfielder feels that despite the frustration of not playing last weekend, his side are focused for the clash against Morton this Saturday.

Speaking in an interview with Rangers TV, Halliday said: “We are fairly frustrated. We had the momentum going and had a couple of fairly good scorelines before the game was called off.

“But sometimes, you have to accept it.

“It was unfortunate, but obviously we are looking forward to our next game, we have got Morton at home this Saturday.”

Halliday believes that along with the players, the fans are also affected by postponement of the fixture, as travelling to the match on a Tuesday is much more difficult.

“I think it’s just frustrating, because we just want to play.

"It was a Saturday and we were fully focussed and then the game gets called off.

“Not only the players but the fans they are affected.

“The game gets shifted to a Tuesday and it is harder for the fans to travel.”

The Ibrox outfit host fourth placed Morton tomorrow and will be looking to get a positive result and widen the gap at the top of the Scottish Championship.
