A late move to Manchester United for Omar Elabdellaoui has been ruled out by the player's agent, although he insists his client will return to English football eventually.

Elabdellaoui, who currently turns out in Greece for Olympiacos, was developed in the youth ranks at Manchester City.

Able to play as a right-back and in midfield, the 24-year-old was linked with a shock late move to Old Trafford before the transfer window slams shut tonight.

But the Norwegian's agent says his client will not be moving now, although he does intend to return to English football at some point, while he also qualifies as a home grown talent due to his time with the Citizens.

"He is a home grown UK player and wants to play there in the future", Jim Solbakken told the BBC.
