Leeds United boss Steve Evans wants Casper Sloth to work harder to be noticed as the completion for his position is high in the first team squad.

The Danish midfielder joined Leeds in the summer of 2014 and despite not being a regular he still managed to clock in 13 Championship appearances in his first season in England.

However, the 24-year-old has found himself completely sidelined this season, and other than three appearances on the bench. Sloth is yet to make a first team appearance and has had to make do with turning out for the club's Under-21s.

Evans praised Sloth for being a model professional, but believes the midfielder has to do a lot better if he wants a place in the first team squad, especially because of the competition in midfield areas.

When asked whether Sloth will get a chance any time soon, the Scot said in a press conference: “Casper is a fantastic young man, and he is a good professional.

“But he needs to do more to be in the team considering the competition in his area of the pitch.”

Sloth has earned nine international caps for Denmark, but his last appearance in the national team colours came in November 2013.

He may well move on from Elland Road in the summer in search of regular first team football.
