English giants Liverpool have made a tentative initial approach for Ajax winger Anwar El Ghazi, according to Sky Italia.

The Ajax youth academy product is considered one of the brightest young talents in the Netherlands and at 20, has already earned two caps for the Dutch national team, marking him out as a player for the future.

El Ghazi has been attracting interest since last year, and there was speculation that several Premier League outfits were considering making an offer for him, but Ajax managed to hold on to the player.

However, it has been suggested that Liverpool are considering making a move for him in the summer and are currently testing the waters to see whether the youngster would be keen on a transfer to England.

While Liverpool are yet to make any concrete move for El Ghazi, their interest is considered to be genuine, and Ajax are worried that they might lose the player should the Reds make any serious attempts to sign him at the end of the season.
