The Azzurri are chasing Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, but the Poland international is holding out for a move to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
Napoli now are showing interest in Bentaleb, according to Sky Italia, though it is unclear whether Tottenham will be willing to sell the young midfielder.
Bentaleb suffered with injuries last season and as a result made just five appearances in the Premier League for Spurs.
