Emanuele Giaccherini's agent feels that the prospects for his client moving on from Sunderland this summer are good, but if the right proposal does not present itself, he could sit tight until the new year, at which point he would be free to sign a pre-contractual agreement.
The winger was one of Italy's most impressive performers during their Euro 2016 campaign, which ended with a penalty shootout defeat to Germany in the quarter-finals on Saturday night.
Now the focus for Giaccherini has turned back to his future at club level – the winger spent last season on loan at Bologna after slipping out of favour at Sunderland.
And agent Furio Valcareggi thinks his client will have good options when it comes to leaving the Black Cats, where he has just a year to run on his contract.
"The scenarios for the future are good – we're going to take him away from Sunderland, the conditions are known and there is then the need to make a big agreement", he told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

Asked about when a move might take place, Valcareggi insists that his client holds all the cards due to his contract with Sunderland only having 12 months left to run.
"It is hard to establish [when a deal might happen], but I put a 'little' in hurry because we have to decide where to go.
"In theory, we can stay at Sunderland and then come away with the release next Christmas.
"He has increased [in value] professionally, but there is the threat of being there [at Sunderland] for six months and then leaving.
"So the British must also be able to take what we bring: in six months, Giaccherini can gain his exit and this weakens the power of Sunderland."
Giaccherini has been tipped as a possible signing for new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who he played under for both Juventus and Italy.
He has also been linked with remaining at Bologna, or joining Torino or Fiorentina.
