Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio will undergo a medical tomorrow ahead of his proposed move to Roma.

With Antonio Rudiger out with a serious knee injury, Roma moved in quickly for the Tottenham defender after they failed to reach an agreement with Barcelona for Thomas Vermaelen.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has already deemed the Argentine defender surplus to requirements, and Roma wasted little time into reaching an agreement with Spurs for Fazio.

The defender will reportedly join Roma on an initial loan deal, and Tottenham have set an obligatory purchase option of €4m for Fazio, who is set to leave for Italy soon.

The Argentine will arrive in the Italian capital later this evening, and according to Sky Italia, he will undergo a medical with Roma tomorrow, before signing a contract with the Serie A giants.
