Nantes president Waldemar Kita has denied any claims of his club’s interest in Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli this summer.
The 26-year-old forward has been training with the Liverpool reserves and the Merseyside giants are desperate to offload him before Wednesday’s transfer deadline day.
A number of Serie A clubs including Lazio and Bologna have been linked with a move for the mercurial Italian, and there has been speculation that he has suitors in France, with Nantes believed to be interested in him.
However, the club president stressed that he is not aware of the source of the information as Nantes have never been interested in snapping up the former AC Milan forward.
On the Balotelli rumour, Nantes president Kita told Presse Ocean: “I don’t know where that came from.
