Tottenham Hotspur have made a move for Leicester City winger Demarai Gray, but their bid is still short of the Foxes’ asking price for the player.

Leicester are having to ward off interest in their winger in the last 24 to 36 hours of the window and have already rejected an offer from Crystal Palace, which involved a proposed swap deal, with Andros Townsend moving to the King Power Stadium.

But the Foxes are set to face a much stiffer test in their pursuit to keep Gray at the club as according to Sky Italia, Tottenham have played their cards in order to snare the winger away from the club.

It has been claimed Spurs have slapped in a bid worth £25m for 21-year-old winger, but their offer is short of the figure Leicester want if they are to agree to sell their talented youngster.

Leicester are thought to be holding out for at least £30m, before considering allowing one of their premier attacking threats to leave the club so late in the window.

More talks are expected to take place between the two clubs over the next few hours as Tottenham look to push through for a move for the England Under-21 international before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

The north Londoners remain confident that they will be able to sign Gray and add one more young attacking talent to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad over the next day.
