Noel Whelan believes a good number of the Leeds United players who started against Reading have something to prove next weekend when they take on Bristol City.
Leeds lost 1-0 at Elland Road against Reading to continue a poor run of form which has now set alarm bells ringing; the Whites have lost four of their last five Championship matches.
There have been calls from some fans for head coach Thomas Christiansen to make wholesale changes for the trip to Ashton Gate.
And Whelan thinks that there are a number of players who have been starting regularly who now need to go out and prove a point against Bristol City.
He said on BBC Radio Leeds: "A lot of these players need to go out against Bristol City and prove a point why they are in the side and sitting in sixth.

"At the moment we're just drifting by and each week, teams we should be beating, we're not winning and we're dropping points.
"They've got a lot to prove to everybody, the fans, come next Saturday", Whelan added.
Leeds will face a Bristol City side in solid form when they head to Ashton Gate next weekend, with the Robins having now gone unbeaten in their last 12 matches in all competitions.
Bristol City are a point and two places better off than Leeds in the Championship standings.
