Former Scotland international Michael Stewart has taken aim at Alan Shearer for claiming that Steven Gerrard taking the Rangers job would be a no brainer.
Shearer believes that if Gerrard is given what he wants in terms of funds and set-up then it should be an easy decision for the Liverpool legend to make when it comes to taking the manager's post at Ibrox.
But Stewart feels that Shearer is wrong when he labels taking the Rangers job a no brainer for Gerrard.
In response to being told of Shearer's comment, Stewart said on BBC Sportscene Extra: "Well it's a no brainer to come out with a comment like that.
"Certainly not [in a good way]. Meaning there is no brain to come out with that comment", he added.

And Stewart admits that he would be hugely shocked if Gerrard does agree to take the reins at Rangers, while he questioned whether the former England star could work with the club's board.
He also pointed out that Aberdeen's Derek McInnes rejected the job.
"For me I would be astonished if Steven Gerrard was to take the Rangers job", he said.
"He would have had to have been promised a serious amount of money. But then, where is this money going to come from?
"Can you actually trust the people that you're working with at board level?
"Are these people the types that you're going to be able to forge a good relationship with?
"There's so many big fundamental issues at Rangers that in my opinion would be big red lights. Look, Derek McInnes turned the job down because of the exact same things.
"Nothing has changed."
Gerrard is currently in charge of Liverpool's Under-18s and is yet to take a senior managerial post.
He has been in talks with Rangers, with it being claimed the Gers have told him the job is his if he wants it.
