West Brom's swoop to sign Rangers defender James Tavernier has stalled.
The Baggies have made bringing in a right-back their number one priority this summer and have offered £3m to Rangers for Tavernier.
It is also claimed the Championship club would be willing to offer Sam Field on loan to Rangers as part of the deal.
However, the jury is out on whether they will be able to get a deal for the right-back over the line before the transfer window for permanent deals closes at 5pm.
Indeed, according to Express & Star, West Brom's swoop to sign Tavernier has stalled.
It remains to be seen how long West Brom might spend on trying to get the transfer back on track with the clock ticking.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is a big fan of Tavernier and gave him the captain's armband at Ibrox earlier this summer.
If Rangers do decide to sell though they will have until the end of the month to replace Tavernier due to the Scottish transfer window still being open.
