Steven Gerrard's man-management skills have been lauded by former Rangers striker Steven Thompson following the Gers' progression into the Scottish League Cup quarter-finals.
Rangers lined up against Steve Clarke's Kilmarnock on Sunday afternoon and went ahead in the 28th minute through Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian striker then netted once again two minutes before the break to send Rangers in 2-0 up.
Kilmarnock did pull a goal back in the 51st minute through a Borna Barisic own goal, but Morelos scored his hat-trick in the 74th minute to seal a 3-1 win for Rangers.
Thompson is majorly impressed with just how much Gerrard is squeezing out of the Rangers players, especially Morelos, and feels his man-management skills must be superb.
"Morelos has his faults, but he is a player just now playing full of confidence", Thompson said on BBC Radio Scotland.
"And that confidence has been given to him by his manager.
"You can't help but be impressed by the impact Steven Gerrard has had.
"His man-management of these players is very impressive", the former Ger added.
One negative for Rangers was losing winger Jamie Murphy to injury after just 15 minutes of the League Cup clash.
The jury is now out on whether Murphy will be available for Thursday's Europa League clash against Russian side FC Ufa.
Rangers have been drawn at home against Ayr in the League Cup quarter-finals.
