Rangers have handed three first team stars run-outs against St Mirren in a reserve team clash this afternoon.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard is keen to make sure players who have not been involved at first team level continue to clock up minutes to stay sharpe.

And in the 2pm kick-off, he has sent the message for three players to take on St Mirren at Auchenhowie.

Defenders Ross McCrorie and Lee Wallace both take places in the starting eleven, while striker Umar Sadiq is also given an outing with the reserve side.

Rangers' reserves face a test against a St Mirren team who have won both their games so far this term.

Allan McManus' men have beaten Kilmarnock's reserves in the IRN-BRU Cup, while they then thrashed Dundee United's reserves 5-0 last week.

Gerrard will want his first team trio to undergo a morale-boosting outing, but also one free of injury given Rangers are in action in the Europa League later this week.

Rangers take on FC Ufa in the second leg of their Europa League playoff round tie in Russia, holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg.
