Former Scottish top flight forward Tam McManus has conceded that Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has proved a number of his naysayers wrong with his performances this season.

The 22-year-old’s performances up front for Rangers this season have played a key role in Steven Gerrard’s side maintaining their unbeaten start to the boss' managerial career.

Morelos has netted six goals from eleven appearances and despite interest from France, Rangers have resisted cashing in on the striker during the ongoing transfer window.

The Rangers striker has also earned his first call up to the Colombia senior squad for their friendlies against Argentina and Venezuela next month and McManus admits that it is just rewards for his performances.

He conceded that the striker has proved his detractors wrong and his attitude under the new manager has been top notch.

Responding to Morelos getting called up by the Colombia national team, the former forward took to Twitter and wrote: “Well deserved, had a great start to the season.
