New Rangers signing Joe Worrall has insisted that he has arrived in Scotland looking to fight for a place in Steven Gerrard's side at Ibrox.

The Gers made Worrall their 15th signing of the summer, signing him from Championship outfit Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old will now compete with Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson for a place in the starting eleven, with the duo having started the season and having shown good form.

Worrall though doesn't shy away from competition and insists that he doesn't want to be handed the Rangers shirt without putting in  hard work in training.

He also took time to give his word about putting in 100 per cent and in the process try to pull on the shirt.

“You want competitiveness in training and I don’t expect to come here – or any club – and be given the shirt", the new signing told Rangers' official website.

“You will watch me train and get the cameras on me, and you’ll see I give 100 per-cent in training to try and get the shirt and walk out on that pitch.

“I pride myself on coming in every day and working hard.

“This is a massive football club and I don’t think I need to say any more than that.

"I’m excited to be here and the lads have given me a warm welcome, so I am looking forward to pulling on that shirt.”

The defender started his career at Nottingham Forest before being promoted to senior level in 2016.

He will be looking to kick on with his development in Scotland.
