Rangers defender Gareth McAuley believes that the Gers’ training facilities are comparable to the standard of Premier League clubs and is sure they will help the talented youngsters develop steadily at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard’s men will host Villarreal in a crucial Europa League Group G encounter at Ibrox on Thursday as they aim to work towards securing qualification to the knockout stages of the competition.
The Light Blues are unbeaten at home so far this season and could rely on the experience of McAuley as they prepare for a big European night under the lights at Ibrox.
Despite having had to work hard to get back to full fitness, McAuley has looked confident at the back for Rangers since making his debut in the Scottish Premiership during the 7-1 win over Motherwell.
And McAuley has been left impressed by Rangers, with the defender viewing that the training facilities at the club as comparable to the standards of the Premier League.
“Definitely, yes [the standards in training at Rangers are comparable to the Premier League]”, McAuley told the Rangers official podcast.
“The facility here is unbelievable and it has got everything any young player needs to develop.
“The information you get about the teams, everything is here to develop and I have been really impressed with it.
“We have got good players and we have got good young players as well that are going to develop into very good players for this club.”
McAuley clocked the full 90 minutes during the 3-0 win over Livingston on Saturday and is in line to feature yet again during the game against Villarreal.
