Manchester City attacker Phil Foden feels that the Sky Blues cannot dwell on their defeat against Chelsea on Saturday as there are still a lot of points to play for in the Premier League.
Chelsea handed Manchester City their first defeat in the league this season and the result saw Liverpool move to the top of the table after their win at Bournemouth on the same day.
Pep Guardiola’s side are a point behind Liverpool, who are now the only unbeaten side in the division.
Foden, who played a part late on, insists that the team will have to put the defeat behind them and look forward to the next game as there is still a lot to play for.
“We can’t obviously look back on this”, Foden told City TV.
“We just have to look forward.
“It’s a long season and there are still many points to play for, so hopefully we can get back to winning ways."
Manchester City’s first game of 2019 will be against Liverpool, but the Sky Blues have a run of six games in just 18 games leading up to that key match.
