Rangers talent Ciaran Dickson has revealed that he looks up to first team star Ross McCrorie and insists he is trying his best to become a better player and feature for the first team soon.
Dickson, who scored during the Rangers Under-18s triumph over Celtic in the Youth Cup final last week, is regarded by some as one of the brightest prospects in the Gers academy.
The 16-year-old signed his first professional contract with Rangers last year and made his debut for Scotland at Under-17 level earlier this season.
And following his exploits in the Youth Cup final, Dickson has revealed he wants to follow in the footsteps of McCrorie by successfully progressing through the ranks at Ibrox and becoming a first team star at the club.
The midfielder admitted he looks up to McCrorie as a role model and reiterated that he wants to achieve something similar in Glasgow with Rangers.
“I really look up to Ross McCrorie”, Dickson said in Q&A on Twitter.
“He has graduated from the academy and played lots of first team games and that’s what I want to do as well.”
Dickson also conceded there is a lot of pressure on the youngsters representing Rangers and insisted he is trying his best to become a better player every day in a bid to make his senior debut sooner rather than later.
“There is a lot of pressure on our shoulders, like last Thursday at Hampden but we need to come out on top”, he continued.
“I am coming in every day and trying to do my best to become a better player.
"Hopefully I can be in the first team as soon as I can.”
Dickson has earned six caps for Scotland Under-17s.
