Kane was at the centre of a massive transfer saga that ultimately led to Tottenham not selling him to Manchester City despite the striker wanting to move on from the club in the summer.

The forward has looked out of sorts this season after missing the first few games due to his decision to join Tottenham’s pre-season preparations late.

But Bent pointed out that the striker has not looked at his best since the end of last season and was out of sorts even during the European Championship.

The former Spurs striker feels Kane is clearly a bit confused at the moment as he wanted to leave Tottenham in the summer and did not get his wish.

Bent said on talkSPORT: “I don’t think he has been at his best ever since he gave that interview to Gary Neville.

“If you looked at him throughout the Euros, he wasn’t good. He got a few goals later on but he really struggled.

“This season, he has got a couple in the Europa Conference League but he hasn’t looked anywhere near himself.

“In the Crystal Palace game, it was the first time in his career he never touched the ball in the opposition box, which is unlike Harry Kane.

“His mind is scrambled, you have got a player there who doesn’t want to be there and he made it quite clear.”

After losing two games on the bounce, Tottenham are desperate to see their talismanic striker back in form in the coming weeks.
