Sheffield Wednesday are on an eight match unbeaten run in the league and their last defeat came in early October against League One leaders Plymouth Argyle.

Darren Moore’s side drew their last league game against Derby County on 3rd December and will be motivated to get back to winning ways when they take on Exeter City on Saturday at St James Park.

Exeter City are eleventh in the league table and Jay admitted that their next game against third placed Sheffield Wednesday will be a tough challenge for them.

The Exeter captain anticipates a packed St James Park on Saturday and believes his team are capable of defeating a big team like Sheffield Wednesday with the Grecians supporters on their side.

It goes without saying, everyone is looking forward to another big game at the weekend when we welcome Sheffield Wednesday to St James Park”, Jay wrote in his Devon Live column.

“With the Owls flying high in League One, it’s sure to be another tough test.

“At the same time, we’d like to think that we’ve turned a bit of a corner with our performance against Morecambe and that, if we can maintain our progress, we’ll fare rather better than we did when we came unstuck against Ipswich in our last home game.

“In any case, with a full house anticipated, our supporters have a huge part to play.

“I don’t imagine for a minute that it will be plain sailing, but if everyone gets behind us – as I’m sure they will – it can only improve our chances of turning over a club with resources we can only dream of.

Moore’s side are in third place in the league table with 41 points from 20 games, just two points behind first placed Plymouth Argyle.
