Henderson joined Nottingham Forest on loan from Manchester United last summer after struggling to break David de Gea’s stranglehold on the number one jersey at Old Trafford.

He is currently out injured, which pushed Nottingham Forest to sign Keylor Navas on deadline day but the Englishman is very much in their plans for the future.

Henderson rejected returning to Old Trafford in the winter window after Martin Dubravka was recalled by Newcastle United.

And it has been claimed that Forest are planning to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer.

A move will depend on them surviving in the Premier League but Henderson remains a big part of their plans.

He is their top goalkeeping target for the next transfer window if they stay in the Premier League next season.

And his decision to reject a return to Manchester United in January is being seen as a positive by Nottingham Forest.

The Red Devils are expected to want to sell Henderson in the summer as they are planning to bring in a new goalkeeper as well.
