Mount underwent a medical at Manchester United and the club are expected to make the announcement of his arrival soon.

Manchester United have agreed to pay a fee of £55m to Chelsea for the 24-year-old midfielder following protracted negotiations.

Chelsea will be due another £5m in add-ons if Mount wins multiple major trophies at Manchester United.

Arsenal and Liverpool were also interested, with the Gunners boss Mikel Arteta initially convinced that the player would opt to stay in London.

But it has been claimed that the detailed discussions with Ten Hag impressed Mount.

The Dutchman spoke in detail with the England star about how he wants to develop him over the course of the next few years.

The two also had discussions over the multiple positions he could play in Ten Hag’s Manchester United side.

The Red Devils were also impressed with Mount since the initial discussions and were happy to see that he desperately wanted to join them.
