Leeds United could explore a deal for Ben Brereton Diaz in the summer, despite Sheffield United bidding to sign him on loan now, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The 24-year-old attacker joined Villarreal on a free transfer from Blackburn Rovers last summer.

However, Brereton Diaz has failed to establish himself in the starting line-up of the Spanish outfit and has yet to find the back of the net this season.

Sheffield United are now working on a loan deal to sign Brereton Diaz from Villarreal, but no option to buy has been discussed.

However, the Blades are not the only English club showing interest in Brereton Diaz, as he is also on the radar of Leeds.

Now it has been claimed that Leeds could explore a move in the summer if they are able to get promoted to the Premier League this season.

Leeds are currently sitting fourth in the table with 48 points from 26 games and are seven points short of the last automatic playoff spot.

Brereton Diaz is a player who was on Leeds’ radar when he was on the books at Blackburn Rovers, but he ended up heading for Spain.
