Aston Villa defender Clement Lenglet has been offered to Napoli as an option this month.

Napoli are looking for a central defender and have been focusing their efforts on Genoa’s Radu Dragusin, who is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur.

The Serie A side’s need is well known to agents and market intermediaries and they are being offered other solutions.

And one defender offered to Napoli is Aston Villa centre-back Lenglet, according to Italian daily Il Mattino (via Arena Napoli).

Lenglet is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Barcelona and despite his limited game time, is a player Unai Emery would like to keep hold of.

Emery has spoken to Lenglet to convince him to remain at Villa Park, but it has been claimed that the defender is still minded to leave.

Napoli have not yet made a decision on whether to pursue a deal for Lenglet.

The 28-year-old Frenchman has made eight appearances across all competitions for Aston Villa so far this term.
