Torino want the transfer fee of Manchester United target Alessandro Buongiorno to more than eclipse the figure Tottenham Hotspur paid to Genoa for Radu Dragusin.

Dragusin rejected Bayern Munich in favour of joining Tottenham from Genoa earlier in the ongoing winter transfer window.

Following weeks of negotiations, Tottenham eventually agreed to pay a fee of more than €30m to Genoa with the Italian club also signing Djed Spence on loan.

Buongiorno, who has been the defensive lynchpin of the Torino team, have also been attracting interest from INEOS who are looking sign him for either Nice or Manchester United.

And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Torino want more money than Genoa received for Dragusin if they are to sell the 24-year-old.

It has been claimed that the Italian club believe there is merit to getting more money for Buongiorno either this month or the summer.

Torino are likely to demand a fee of €40m before agreeing to sell the centre-back in the near future.

They have no interest in accepting any players as part of a deal that would allow the buying club to bring down the asking price.

The Serie A club are also in no hurry to sell him and would prefer to see him move to the Premier League given the financial strength of clubs in England.
