Panathinaikos goalkeeper Alberto Brignoli has vowed not to rock the boat despite the Greek giants freezing him out of the first team squad.

The Italian shot-stopper was voted the best goalkeeper in the Greek Super League last season, but speculation over his future has rumbled on in the current campaign.

No contract has been agreed between Panathinaikos and Brignoli, meaning the 32-year-old is due to be a free agent in the summer.

Panathinaikos signed goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski on loan in the winter window to replace Brignoli given the contractual standoff and he has been frozen out of the squad.

Despite his treatment by the Greek side, Brignoli is not prepared to take aim at them and has vowed to abide by their decision while remaining professional.

He told Inside Futbol: “I have to respect the club’s decision until the last day that I will be here.

“I have always been fair from day one when I arrived 2.5 years ago and I will be until 30th June.

“What the club decide and what they do is something I don’t like, but I have to accept.

“About my future, we will see. I haven’t decided yet.”

It has been suggested that the former Juventus goalkeeper could stay within Greece with a move to AEK Athens in the summer.

Brignoli has won the Greek Cup during his time at Panathiniakos.
