West Ham United view their 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal as a one-off and are advancing in talks over a new deal with David Moyes, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Moyes is out of contract at West Ham in the summer and under big pressure due to a poor run of results, with the mauling against Arsenal at the London Stadium angering fans.

It has been claimed that West Ham have put talks on a new contract with Moyes on hold amid the downturn in form.

However, West Ham are continuing to make progress on talks for a new deal for Moyes.

The discussions are significantly down the line and it is claimed that West Ham view the Arsenal debacle as a one-off.

Moyes has also come out fighting to defend his tenure.

Following Saturday’s defeat at Nottingham Forest, Moyes insisted that while previous West Ham managers may have had a more attractive style of play, none of them won as much as he has done.

Moyes delivered a major trophy to West Ham in the form of the Europa Conference League and currently has the club in the top half of the Premier League table.
