Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim has emerged as the top choice for Brighton for their next manager if Liverpool linked Roberto De Zerbi leaves at the end of the season.

De Zerbi is considered as one of the brightest coaches in world football and has even been endorsed by Pep Guardiola.

The Italian is widely claimed to be on the shortlist of names Liverpool are considering as they seek to identify a replacement for their outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp.

Barcelona also have their eyes on De Zerbi with club president Joan Laporta wanting more information on the Brighton manager.

Brighton are aware that they could lose their manager at the end of the season and according to Portuguese outlet Maisfutebol, they are aware of who they want as his replacement.

It has been claimed Sporting Lisbon coach Amorim is the man Brighton want if De Zerbi moves on.

The 39-year-old Portuguese is a highly-rated young coach and has been tipped to work in one of the top leagues of Europe soon.

Amorim has been identified by Brighton as the ideal replacement for De Zerbi, who is claimed to have personally approved his candidature.

The Italian wants to leave Brighton in safe hands and believes the Portuguese has the credentials to fill his shoes at the Amex Stadium.
