Former EFL star Adrian Clarke has insisted that Birmingham City have every chance of beating Huddersfield Town this weekend and boosting their survival hopes in the Championship.

With two games left in the season, Birmingham are sitting 22nd in the Championship table and will face Huddersfield, who are 23rd, on Saturday in west Yorkshire.

Both sides are struggling for form and many feel the losers from the game will get relegated from the Championship this season.

Birmingham are on a terrible run of form and have a game against Norwich City on the final day of the season.

However, Clarke insisted that Blues fans must not despair yet as he believes they have the ability to get all three points on Saturday.

He insisted that Huddersfield are not a great attacking threat and he feels if Birmingham can remain solid at the back, they have the forwards to win them the game in west Yorkshire.

Clarke said on the What The EFL Podcast: “I know a lot of Birmingham fans and they are resigned to it but I don’t think they should be.

“I think they can win this game because Huddersfield are shot shy and they don’t have that many goal threats.

“I look at Birmingham and think if they can play together and sort it out at the back, they definitely have got the talent to get one or two goals to potentially win this match.

“I am going to back Birmingham here but it could come back to bite me.”

Huddersfield will finish the season with a trip to Ipswich Town, who could need a result on the final day to get automatic promotion.
