Marseille are in talks with the representatives of Mason Greenwood and believe landing the Manchester United forward would be a major coup this summer.

Greenwood is expected to leave Manchester United, who are keen to sell him in the ongoing transfer window.

Lazio, Napoli, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are amongst the clubs who have been in contact with Manchester United to try and sign him this summer.

French giants Marseille are also in the fray and the club are pushing hard to take him to Ligue 1 ahead of the new season.

According to French daily La Provence (via Foot Mercato), Marseille believe that they have an opportunity to carry out a coup by landing Greenwood this summer.

The French giants are holding talks with the player and his entourage over convincing him to move to Marseille.

They are looking to get the player’s consent first before starting negotiations with Manchester United for his transfer.

The Premier League giants want €40m from his sale but Marseille are hoping to negotiate down that figure.

As things stand, Greenwood is expected to report for pre-season training with Manchester United next week.
