Rudiger has six months left on his contract at Chelsea and the defender rejected the club’s offer of a new deal worth £140,000 per week in August.

The negotiations stalled as Chelsea were unwilling to increase their offer and it looked likely that the defender would be leaving the club on a free transfer next summer.

Real Madrid have been in talks with the defender over signing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

But it has been claimed that the defender is under the impression he is not a priority for the Spanish giants next summer.

Real Madrid are happy with the defensive partnership of Eder Militao and David Alaba and have their eyes on Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Chelsea are making a renewed push to convince the defender to sign a new deal after Thomas Tuchel continued to insist on holding on to Rudiger.

They are still not close enough to match the wages being demanded by the German but talks have been ongoing over the last few weeks.

Chelsea are yet to make an offer but the two sides are discussing numbers of a potential new contract.

Rudiger is also wanted at Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, while Manchester United are also interested in signing him next summer on a free transfer.
