Blackburn Rovers could offer Leeds United half of their £4m asking price for Charlie Cresswell in the hope it is enough to snare him, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Leeds are prepared to sell Cresswell this month as he seeks regular game time that he has little prospect of getting at Elland Road.
The Whites though rate the defender at £4m and though clubs are keen, the asking price is one no side have yet to come close to meeting.
Blackburn want Cresswell to plug their leaky backline, but £4m is too much for the Ewood outfit.
It is suggested that they could go up to £2m for the defender in the hope that it will be enough to convince Leeds to sell.
Cresswell has played just 127 minutes of Championship football for Leeds so far this season, a far cry from his game time on loan at Millwall last term.
The 21-year-old turned out 28 times in the Championship for Millwall last season.
His current deal at Leeds is scheduled to run through to the summer of 2027.
