Lazio will walk away from any possible deal for Jack Clarke if Sunderland keep asking for disproportionate amounts, it has been claimed in Italy.

Boss Maurizio Sarri is keen on adding to his wing options before the end of the January transfer window and has shortlisted the 23-year-old.

Clarke has been one of the first names on the Sunderland team sheet and is yet to miss a single league match this season.

Lazio want Clarke and are holding talks with Sunderland in an effort to find common ground in the coming days.

It is believed that Sunderland have already rejected an offer in the region of €16m for the player.

Sunderland are keen on keeping Clarke until the end of the season and selling him for a price of €30m.

Lazio remain keen on Clarke, but according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, they will walk away from any potential deal if Sunderland keep asking for disproportionate amounts.

The Rome side know they have a tough job convincing Sunderland to sell now for a price they can afford, but feel there is scope for an agreement if the Black Cats are reasonable.
