Southampton loan star Carlos Alcaraz has insisted that he is not intimidated by the option to buy price Juventus agreed to when they signed him on loan in the winter transfer window.
Alcaraz joined Juventus from Southampton towards the end of the last transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Juventus agreed to pay an up-front loan fee of €3.7m with the potential add-ons of another €1.9m as part of the agreement.
The Serie A giants also secured a huge option to buy for a fee of €49.5m in the loan agreement with Southampton.
Juventus could end up paying more than €55m to Southampton if they sign the player on a permanent deal in the summer
However, Alcaraz insisted that he is not afraid of the potential costs he could incur if he permanently joins Juventus and is only focused on playing well at this stage of his career.
He said in a press conference (via Tutto Mercato): “It doesn’t scare me.
“We will see the price issue as time goes by.
“I want to play well, who knows if the price could be right or not.
“It will depend on what I will do on the pitch so we will see.
“But I am calm and I am only thinking about playing well.”
Southampton paid a little over €14m to sign the midfielder from Racing Club in January last year.
