Newcastle United have had an offer of €18m for Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang knocked back, according to Eurosport.
The race for the Gabon international is quickly heating up with Swansea City seeing a €12m bid rebuffed earlier this week; Saint-Etienne felt the offer was not large enough, while Aubameyang himself let it be known he has no intention of going to the Liberty Stadium.
And Les Verts have also put a stop to Newcastle’s plot to take Aubameyang to St. James’ Park for €18m.
Indeed, last season’s Coupe de la Ligue winners do not judge the striker to be worth less than €20m, an amount Anzhi Makhachkala have indicated they are ready to pay for the player.

A complication for the Russians though is that Aubameyang favours a switch to England or Germany.
He has a whole host of suitors in both countries; in England, Aubameyang has seen Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all linked with launching a swoop for his services.
And in Germany, he has appeared on Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen’s wanted lists.
