Newcastle United's problems involving Yohan Cabaye have intensified, with the French midfielder going on strike at the club in order to push for a move.
While Cabaye is believed to have refused to play against West Ham at the weekend, in disapproval of the Magpies turning down an offer from Arsenal for his services, it was not know whether it was a one-off pique of rage or something more serious.
Now, news from Cabaye's homeland via Le Parisien, confirms that the former Lille man is on strike at St. James' Park.
Cabaye wants Newcastle to allow him to leave this summer – and Arsenal would be an agreeable destination for the talented schemer.

The Gunners had offered £10m for Cabaye, a sum which Newcastle judged as well below the going rate for the France international midfielder.
There is also interest in the player from Paris Saint-Germain, a destination which may be preferable for Newcastle to bid Cabaye farewell to, avoiding as it does strengthening a fellow Premier League side.
Cabaye is now deadly serious over his desire to leave the Magpies though and it is difficult to envisage him as part of Alan Pardew's squad after 2nd September.
