Italian giants Inter are stepping up their interest in prolific Olympiacos striker Kostas Mitroglou, as they prepare to battle Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund for the 25-year-old's signature.
Mitroglou has been in superb goalscoring form for Olympiacos this term, but Inter decided to check on the player on the international scene on Friday evening instead.
According to Italian outlet Sportmediaset, the Nerazzurri sent scouts to watch Mitroglou in action for Greece during the country's World Cup playoff first leg against Romania.
The striker did not disappoint the watching talent spotters, scoring twice in a 3-1 victory which puts Greece in pole position to book a ticket to Brazil.

Inter will not have a free run at Mitroglou however, with Arsenal and Dortmund keen.
And Olympiacos do not want to sell the striker in January, despite the 25-year-old being believed to have a release clause in his contract set at just €8m.
Mitroglou's contract at the Greek champions runs until 2016.
