Paris Saint-Germain are weighing up making a bid for Chelsea star Eden Hazard in the upcoming transfer window, with the French champions feeling they have the financial muscle to pull off such a move.

Laurent Blanc's men are searching for an attack-minded midfielder and have seen themselves linked with another Chelsea man in Juan Mata, along with Newcastle United schemer Yohan Cabaye.

But according to France Football, Hazard has been thrown into the mix too, with the Ligue 1 giants now seriously pondering slapping in a bid for the Belgian.

Hazard's stock in France is sky high following a sublime spell with Lille which saw him pick up the league's best player award for two consecutive seasons.

PSG would bid €40m for Hazard in the hope that Chelsea may sanction his sale.

The capital club are also confident they could meet Hazard's wage demands for a switch to France; the Belgium star currently earns €6m per year at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard is under contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2017 and has been handed regular playing time by Blues boss Jose Mourinho this term.
