Talk of a move away from Bayern Munich for Mario Mandzukic has been stamped on by the club's CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who has insisted that instead a contract renewal is set to be on the table for the Croatian.

Bayern Munich have just secured the services of Robert Lewandowski from next summer, on a five-year deal, and speculation has raged that Mandzukic could be sold as a result.

Arsenal have seen themselves linked with the former Wolfsburg striker, while Juventus are also firm fans of his talents.

But Bayern Munich are not planning on selling Mandzukic and want him to remain at the Allianz Arena, something which sees a contract renewal ahead of time on the agenda.

"We're very happy with Mario", Rummenigge said to FCB TV.

"He considerably contributed to us winning that many titles during the last year. If I may remind you of the goal in London…

"He's a great player who has developed amazingly at FC Bayern.

"He has a contract until 30th June 2016 and I told his agent in Marrakech [at the Club World Cup] that we are prepared to think about renewing his contract ahead of schedule.

"In no way are we discussing letting Mario go."

Mandzukic has found the back of the net on ten occasions in 16 Bundesliga games for Bayern Munich so far this season.
