Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini today refused to continue the apparent mind games with his Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho, with the latest round involving Yaya Toure.

The two clubs have seen their managers exchange various jibes on matters such as "rich horses and little horses", Financial Fair Play and refereeing decisions.

The verbal jousting took a new turn yesterday when Mourinho claimed the FA's retrospective inaction on a Toure incident would prompt other players to take liberties with off-the-ball antics.

However, Pellegrini, who is now free to use Toure in what will prove a crucial month, wanted nothing more to do with the mind games.

"I don't want to respond to things Mourinho says every week because he will continue every week to try talking about things that are not from football", he told a press conference today.

"I answered just once to Mourinho because if you remain in silence always, [people] may agree with those things.

"He started talking about referees and Financial Fair Play, I don't think it is the way [to go about things]. But just once. I will not continue every week talking about things that for me are not important.

"The FA acts in the way that it thinks will be better for teams. I trust in the FA and the in the referees."
