Roberto Mancini wants Galatasaray to sign Samuel Eto’o but will face competition from fellow Turkish club Besiktas for the Cameroonian.

The striker is all set to leave Chelsea as his contract with the club is set to expire this summer.

Mancini has lost the services of Didier Drogba and has indentified the Cameroonian striker as an ideal replacement for the departing Ivorian at Galatasaray.

However, he will face tough competition from Besiktas, who have admired the former Inter striker for some time and are ready to battle their Turkish rivals for his signature.

Marcello Lippi, manager of Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande, is also looking to sign a quality forward and is closely monitoring the former Barcelona striker. However, it remains to be seen whether Eto’o is willing to move out of Europe this summer.

Eto’o has won league titles in two different countries and is a three-time Champions League winner, twice with Barcelona and once with Inter Milan.

The 33-year-old has earned 116 caps for Cameroon at international level and has scored 55 times for his country.
