Didier Drogba has backed Ivory Coast team-mate Serge Aurier to make the grade in the Premier League, with the right-back having been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool this summer.

Aurier was in inspired form for the Ivory Coast last night as he turned provider for both of the side's goals in their come-from-behind 2-1 win over Japan, to get their World Cup campaign off to a flying start.

The Elephants had fallen behind to a Keisuke Honda strike in the first half, but goals from Wilfried Bony (64th minute) and Gervinho (66th) minute, both provided by Aurier, turned the tide.

And Chelsea legend Drogba feels the Toulouse full-back has all the ingredients needed to flourish in the Premier League, if indeed he does make the move.

"He’s the best right-back in all of France", Drogba told FIFA, praising his team-mate.

"I think he’ll do well at the next level too, in the Premier League."

And for Aurier, the impact he made in his country's first World Cup match was nothing short of a "dream".

"Setting up both goals, it’s like a dream", he beamed, post-match.
