Schalke centre-back Benedikt Howedes has waved away speculation he is wanted by English giants Arsenal, but conceded he wants to play his football abroad at some point in his career.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a new centre-back following the departure of Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona and Germany World Cup star Howedes has been mooted as a target for boss Arsene Wenger.
Schalke are desperate not to lose Howedes however and the player himself has batted away transfer talk.
"There are always rumours in football, especially if you have won the World Cup, but I do not think about them at this time", the 26-year-old told the DPA.
"I have worn the shirt of Schalke since I was 13 and I would not have stayed here so long if I did not enjoy it.

"Of course, I have always said that one day I want to have an experience abroad, learn a new language, get used to a different club and learn about a new environment, but there is still time."
Howedes, who captains Schalke, was also linked with Manchester City earlier this summer, leading the Ruhr giants to issue a swift hands-off response.
