Jose Mourinho is targeting sealing qualification for the knockout stage of the Champions League after four games, with his Chelsea side taking another step towards the target by beating Sporting Lisbon 1-0 last night.

Chelsea drew their opening Champions League group match against Schalke at home, but a Nemanja Matic goal in Lisbon ensured Sporting Lisbon were put to the sword.

With Schalke and the group's other side, NK Maribor, drawing, Chelsea are now firmly in control of the group and top with four points; Schalke and Maribor have two, and Sporting Lisbon one.

And with a double-header of games against Maribor next for Chelsea, Mourinho feels qualification can be booked with two wins.

"We won three points, which was good. The points are what matters. We lost points at home and now we got them back", the Portuguese said via UEFA, speaking after the win over Sporting Lisbon.

"Now we will have two matches with Maribor, we have four points now and if we win both we will have ten, so job done", he added.

Club captain John Terry made his 100th Champions League appearance for Chelsea against Sporting Lisbon and Mourinho was also keen to pay tribute to the defender.

"It is a huge milestone for him, especially because they were all made at the same club. He has made history in the competition, entering an elite group."
