Arsenal are prepared to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi – but only at the end of the season.
It has been claimed that Real Madrid are considering an offer for the former Real Sociedad man from Athletic Bilbao and with the impending arrival of Lucas Silva at the Bernabeu, Illarramendi may have a big call to make on his future this month.
Though the player wants to stay at Real Madrid, he is aware that Silva’s arrival at the club will further diminish his first team opportunities.
Athletic Bilbao are keen on taking the Basque midfielder to the San Mames this month and Inter Milan have also lodged an enquiry for the 24-year-old.
However, according to Madrid-based daily Marca, Arsenal are also interested in signing Illarramendi – but only in the summer.
